Sharpton, Jackson and Imus; Why Appologize?

Maybe someone out there can explain to me why Don Imus has to appologize to Al Sharpton and to Jesse Jackson.  I can't for the life of me understand why Don Imus would make a comment like he did, except that maybe, just maybe he wanted to fit in to the "hip hop culture", like that is something admirable.  I would love to see just how many of the black comedians will condemn Don Imus and promise to never again use the "n word" while referring to their black friends.  The way I see it, it's plain and simple, the black population (not all of them) are all too willing to speak in their own language, that only a college professor of ebonics can understand (or a hip hop artist, street thug, or drug dealer).  Not to mention the infiltration of that language into general modern society, that usually makes parents like me point the finger at their 7 year old and tell her that Bow Wow is not allowed on our TV and will never be.

If Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are the moral authorities in the march for civil rights, then I would contend that the two of them lost sight of the march quite a while ago.  Since when are anti-semitic race baiters allowed to be the moral judges of speech?  Does the First Ammendment to the Constitution still exist?  I am beginning to wonder if there really is freedom of speech, I am no racist and have never considered any minority less than equal to me because I believe "that all men are created equal".  So my next question is this.

When will Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson appologize to the three men accused of raping an exotic dancer at Duke University?  The esteemed Rev. Jesse Jackson gave the lying woman a scholarship to the University and was very nice to her.  Has anyone considered the fact that the accuser in the Duke rape case has had a baby?   And that the baby was born just a mere nine months after this case was made public.   I will bet my last dollar that if DNA were taken from the baby of the liar, and compared to the DNA of Rev. Jackson, it would be a perfect match as a child of his.  It is common knowledge that the good Rev. Jackson is an adultrous, race baiting moron, as well as a failed presidential candidate.  What a picture of what a "man of the cloth" should be.   Now, I am no saint and have made mistakes in my life, and I will readily admit to the errors and I will not stand in judgement of anyone.  Rev. Jackson has made a career of race baiting, strongarming people and corporations, and having adultrous affairs.

After all this I would say that the Reverends Jackson and Sharpton should be boycotted in all that they do.

Scooter Libby's Problems

I guess I have a fundamental problem understanding why a decent man like Scooter Libby can be destroyed, and all of the leftist media think this is a good thing.  I was outraged when I found out that Mr. Libby had been convicted on 4 of 5 felony counts.  I have followed the story since the media was calling for the head of Karl Rove because Valerie Plame was "outed".  Anyone with half a brain can look at the facts of the case and see that Scooter was made out to be the criminal that Bill Clinton or Sandy Berger are.  The indictments against Scooter Libby mean nothing to anyone other than the Hate Bush crowd, and to think that he will not be forever known as a felon, is ludicrous and ignorant.

His problems are just beginning, and I am positive that Mr. Clinton or Berger would shudder to think that they were even remotely in the same position that Scooter is in.  I know that I would be terrified, were I in the same position.  Don't get me wrong, not terrified for myself, or because I might go to prison.  Only for my family who relies on me for income, and a father to my children.  I can only paraphrase what Rush Limbaugh said on his show today, that Scooter Libby is now no better than any other felon, in the eyes of the law.  This whole fiasco is jus wrong and I will do everything in my power to get the man pardoned, if his appeal doesn't go anywhere.

McCain's Navy

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) announced his intentions to run for President in 2008 on the David Letterman show, and then said that the 3,000 lives lost in the war on terror are "wasted" .  As one of Sen. McCain's constituents, I have to say that he is dead wrong.   McCain is a "moderate republican" that will do and say anything to be the "media darling".  What I don't understand is why McCain thinks that he won't be hurt in the polls or public opinion.  Don't get me wrong, McCain is no better than Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) who said the same thing and wasn't repudiated in any way.

Yeah, I noticed that he printed a contraction a couple days later on a website.  I for one, will not vote for Sen. McCain in any capacity that he seeks.  I would like to make sure that nobody else does either.  Anyone who wants to look it up can find his voting record, and let's mention his most notable endeavors; McCain-Feingold Bill restricting funding for candidates, and the No Child Left Behind Bill (which McCain co-authored with Ted Kennedy), by the way, the No Child Left Behind was a good idea by Pres. Bush and was corrupted with the likes of Ted Kennedy and John McCain.  To make it simple, John McCain is not a conservative and doesn't care about anyone except his political power.  Hey, I just read that last sentence and realized that I just described the Democrat party.  Hmmm.  Something to think about.

I am sure that over the next year that Sen. McCain will have plenty of opportunities to stick his foot in his mouth and I really resent the people who try to use his military service to justify his actions and his speech.  I am a veteran of the Navy also, I served for 8 1/2 years and was never willing to condemn the actions of the Commander in Chief.  John McCain isn't so special and he isn't a hero either.  I'll tell you about a hero in the Vietnam War, his name was Kerry L. Vance.  Kerry was just about in the middle of 11 children who already had 2 of their older brothers enlist and serve in Vietnam.  Kerry enlisted in the army and was a medic, he was sent to Vietnam and died in Vietnam.  He was shot by a sniper behind enemy lines.  Kerry Vance was my Uncle and was killed on April 17, 1970.   Now I'm not saying that my Uncle's death is any more important than the 20,000 other men that were killed in Vietnam, but he and all the other men who gave the Ultimate sacrifice are the real heros.

Carbon Neutral????

I have been listening to the news for the past few days and keep hearing about the illustrious Al Gore and how he uses at least 20 times the average annual electrical bill for an average home, in just one month.  That is astonishing, but only if you believe that liberals actually want to save the earth from the mean EVIL United States.
Al Gore may have won an Oscar for the best documentary last Sunday, but he didn't win the grand prize in the brain lottery.  Does he really think that we are stupid, and can't figure out that he is a big fat hipocrite? I really hope not.  When asked about this he says he is carbon neutral.  What?
I would really like to have someone explain what carbon neutral is.  This sounds to me like a big fake way to make themselves "feel good" about destroying the earth.
I don't pretend to be the best person in the world, but I don't tell others how to live their lives either.  I actually encourage others to live their lives to make their ownselves happy, after all isn't that what we all want?
